One year ago, Superstorm Sandy changed our lives. Thankfully, though many homes and properties were damaged or destroyed, very few lives were lost, and there were relatively few injuries. I was at home in Mantoloking during the storm, and remained in town for eight days (without heat and light, or any other creature comforts) afterward in my capacity as an Office of Emergency Management volunteer/public information officer – helping residents, and disseminating information via the OEM Facebook page and town website. This time before, during, and after the storm provided many opportunities for me to take pictures, and I have included them below. Click on the each slideshow to view larger versions.
Happily, things have a come a long way since the storm! Where ever you are today, I hope that you are warm, safe, happy, and that you have heat, and light!
